On the evening of January 27, 2024, the SDC 2024 CURV Once upon a Shine Gala, Presented by Beeta Education at the Vancouver Convention Centre, concluded with a touching success. All the guests contributed generously to this success, offering their presence and support as a beacon of hope for children with special needs. This gala became a pivotal moment, showcasing the strength of our community's commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs.

SDC took immense pride in the incredible performances of the children. Their spectacular performance under the spotlight was not just an exhibition of dedication but also the perfect embodiment of their love and passion for life. Every dance move and melody deeply touched the hearts of the audience, leaving an unforgettable impression.

Additionally, a special on-stage interview during the dinner left a lasting impact. Anto, a parent of one of SDC’s participants, shared a heartwarming story about how their daughter learned to make friends in a unique way through SDC's programs. Through SDC's programs, she not only learned to make friends in her own way but also gained confidence and social skills. This nurturing environment provided by SDC fostered her growth in a space filled with love and understanding. This heartwarming story highlighted the profound personal development experienced by children involved in SDC's programs, sending a powerful message of love, hope, and growth to all who were present.

We were delighted to share more stories about SDC at the gala, allowing more people to understand our work and spread awareness and love for the children at SDC. We hope these stories inspire and spread support for children with special needs.

Over 800 supporters came to support SDC’s mission and help expand the impact.

At this gala, SDC fundraised to support children with special needs to expand further its programs and impact. With this funding, SDC will be able to assist more children and families, extending its courses and impact. SDC hopes that through these programs, children can gain confidence and feel loved through learning and interaction.
